International Literacy Day. Annually observed under the auspices of UNESCO, this day serves as a reminder of the importance of literacy as a fundamental human right and a foundation for societal development.
International Day of Journalists' Solidarity. Established in memory of the Czech journalist Julius Fučík, who was executed by the Nazis on September 8, 1943. The holiday is dedicated to protecting journalists' rights and fostering solidarity among them.
World Physical Therapy Day. Created to commemorate the founding of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy in 1951.
The Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos (Second Prechysta). One of the 12 major Orthodox Christian holidays. On this day, believers commemorate the birth of the Virgin Mary. According to folk traditions, this day is considered a "women's day" and symbolizes the end of the harvest season (Osenyny).
