You are awaited not by a mere dance production, but by an engrossing story that shall come to life upon the stage.
"Into this modern rendition of the classical ballet, I have poured all my love for the original source. While breathing new choreographic life into Adam's music, I felt an incredible creative exultation. My Giselle is not a sweet peasant maid, but a dispossessed child of a great modern city. Like her classical prototype, she dreams of a true and great love. Her girlish dreams are shattered when Giselle confronts the chasm that divides our world into the rich and the poor. Yet, unlike her predecessor, in this modern version Giselle will not receive a blissful departure into an idealized world of departed souls. A true and utter hopelessness awaits her. A girl from the outskirts of the city, Giselle will strive to remain a human being, despite the trials that befall her. My Giselle fights desperately for her right to love and to be loved. And though this story ends tragically, the viewer will come to believe in the strength of the human spirit, which elevates us in the hours of life's gravest blows," - Radu Poklitaru.
